Step In!
Imagine this, your just getting back from lunch with your group of friends. You’re laughing and talking about your day when you see two kids in the hall. One is a larger kid who does not look happy with the small kid cowering against the locker. As you walk by you hear pleading, "Please please don't hit me." You freeze in your tracks, wondering what to do.

I know this is a very stereotypical scenario…but what would you do? When it comes to bullying, the most difficult issue is stepping in when you see another person being bullied. How do you go about it? How do you not create problems for yourself?

Get involved. Whenever you see someone else suffering, help him or her. What does it say about your character and morals, if you let someone else suffer and not help them out? Teachers always say, "If you see someone else getting bullied, step in and say 'Dude. That’s not cool!"

But lets be honest...that sounds really lame. No one actually talks like that. Just approach the situation and try a distraction method. Ask about an upcoming test. About future lunch plans. Talk about how boring class was. Just break up the situation and diffuse the tension.
